You can usually find exterior house shutters at a lot of different places. You can find them on-line and some companies will even offer free shipping if you buy from them. You can probably even find them at your local hardware store and if they do not have them, you might be able to talk them into ordering some for you. House shutters are made by different materials and depending on what type you get they can last for years to come. They will not only add beautiful luster to your home but they will up the property value in case you ever decide that you want to sell your house.
It is also great to have exterior house shutters because they can help someone to identify your house if they can not find it. Like for instance you can tell someone looking for your house that it is the white one with red shutters or whatever color you may have. It does not matter what color house or shutters that you have as long as you are the one that is happy with them and you are happy about the price that they cost you. They are so simple and diverse that If you can not find the color that you like, you can always get plain white ones and then paint them the color you desire.

Tips on Choosing Exterior House Colors and Materials
Choosing exterior house colors can be quite a challenge. It often takes years of experience to learn what colors and materials will 
work together. The average person has never done this before and certainly dooesn’t have training or professional experience. And choosing the wrong color paint or material can be a very expensive mistake that you’ll likely have to accept for many years (or spend a lot of money to fix). Here are some tips to help you make the right choices.
Choosing the Right Paint Colors
The most common error I see in choosing exterior house color is that the color is too light. The sun will wash out colors outside, so choosing a light color will end up looking like white. When choosing colors, keep in mind that they usually need to be more grey or brown than you think. For example, a grey with a tint of green in it will read more green than you usually think when painted on the entire house. If you choose a color and can say ‘now that’s green’, you’ve probably choosen too ‘green of a green’. The primary exception to this rule would be in more tropical locations such as Florida or other locations where a lighter more reflective color is desired to keep a house cool. Here pastel and brighter colors can work very well.
Tips on Choosing Window Colors
Many homes have vinyl windows which will usually be white. Painting white vinyl with a dark paint can be disastrous because of the expansion of the vinyl in sunlight. The dark color will cause the vinyl to expand even more than normal, leading to paint and possibly window failure. If you have trim around a white vinyl window, it often works best to paint that trim white too. That will tend to make the vinyl windows blend in more, and look more like a traditional wood window.
Painting Brick
Just because you have a brick house, don’t automatically rule out painting the brick. You will still have the texture of the brick, but you won’t be stuck to the same color, which date many, many homes. Of course, if you have a Frank Lloyd Wright mission style brick home, don’t paint it! But most of our homes are not so inspired. Painting the brick can really freshen up a dark and dreary house. Consult a good paint store when painting brick to be sure to get compatible products.

This is a place where you can afford to be a little riskier because generally accent colors are limited to a smaller area. I compare this to a woman who puts on makeup: the accent color is like putting on mascara and lipstick. But keep it classy! You know what too much makeup does to a woman. The same goes for a house.

Stucco Versus Vinyl Siding For a House Exterior
When you are considering how to finish the outside of your house, you may want to consider the advantages of stucco versus vinyl siding. While the first one certainly is an attractive finish for your home, it does require maintenance and repair, while the second one is virtually carefree. Frequently the choice of whether to maintain an old stucco finish or simply cover it with vinyl siding simply depends on how much maintenance the old stucco finish needs.
Understanding Stucco
Even though stucco does require maintenance, there are some advantages to having a stucco finish on your home. First of all it is attractive and durable. A stucco finish on your home gives it a very distinctive style. It is resilient, and even though it may need maintenance, it is generally pretty low maintenance. Stucco also helps to insulate your home making it more energy efficient. Many areas of the country prefer stucco homes, and having a real stucco home adds resale value to your house. Some stucco is applied using a concrete mixture over a wood or wire lath. It is first coated with an acrylic polymer making it weather resistant, and it helps to minimize cracking in the stucco. There are also new materials that are used in construction today where a Styrofoam based stucco product is sprayed onto a fiberglass mesh and foam board creating stucco panels. This newer stucco costs more than the original concrete stucco, but it has superior insulation qualities.
All About Vinyl Siding
As you are considering which product will best suit your home, remember that vinyl siding has some good qualities of its own. It is almost maintenance free, and it comes in a huge array of colors. It is not painted; instead the color goes all the way through the siding. Newer versions of vinyl siding are much improved over its predecessors in that modern siding has better color, and it is more durable and flexible. This home finish is extremely weather resistant, and it does not rust, crack or deteriorate. An occasional hose washing is pretty much the only maintenance that it requires, and many people consider it one of the best home finishes available.
Which is Best?
As you are considering which finish is right for our home, you may want to remember that while vinyl siding is virtually care free, the original concrete stucco is far less expensive to apply. However, when you compare your costs over the years and factor in maintenance costs, then vinyl siding may not actually be more expensive at all. Finding a contractor to install vinyl siding will be easier than finding one to install stucco, but regular stucco does add a warmth, style and charm to a home that you just do not get with vinyl siding. So if you have a stucco home, and you are trying to decide if you should repair it or simply cover it with vinyl siding, unless it has a lot of extensive damage, the most economical solution will be to repair it.
